Thirty years ago, Mike King, Te Radar, Raybon Kan, Cal Wilson and Ewen Gilmour competed for the inaugural Billy T Award and went on to become household names. Hosted by 2026 Billy T Award winner Joel Vinsen, this showcase features the next wave of NZ comedy talent pitching their best material at the Wintergarden, The Civic, on 26 September 2026 — bold ideas, big laughs, and proceeds supporting the New Zealand Comedy Trust.

Perfect for a night out at The Civic

• Just 10 minutes’ walk from our apartment on Hobson Street. No battling the car park traffic — have a night cap on the way home instead.
• Full kitchen, so you can cook a proper dinner before the show instead of queuing for one.
• Self check-in via secure lockbox — no front-desk queue if you’re arriving straight from work.
• Flexible stays — come for the night, or turn it into a full weekend in the city.
